Great praise for performance at the Düsseldorf trade fair

METAV 2008: the first Oemata presence at a specialist trade fair for a long time. Oemata staff informed many interested companies, made new contacts and maintained existing contacts. There was great praise for the modern appearance of the “Coo!ant Company".

The Oemata staff tirelessly handed out information material and attention-grabbing transparent blue piggy banks displaying the company logo. The message was: metalworking companies that use coolants and lubricants and other high-tech products from Uetersen can save serious money. “Being present at one of the most important specialist trade fairs in the world brought us a huge amount of positive feedback from visitors and the specialist press. Additionally, we were able to make contact with new prospective customers and advertise Oemata’s highly effective products.” This is how product manager Malte Krone sums up the company’s performance at METAV, held from 31 March to 3 April.
Over 51,000 trade visitors from 41 countries learned about the spectrum of the most modern metalworking production technology; from machine tools, precision tools, automation components through to custom-built systems. Here, 842 exhibitors were represented on an area of 54,000 square metres.
For Oemata the attendance at the trade fair was a successful step in its new customer communications strategy: “We presented our new corporate design by means of the never-before-seen trade stand,” reported Marketing and Sales Manager Dr Ulrich Mann. The company colours of blue and orange, as well as the emphasis on the natural attributes of water, count towards the creative characteristics of the “Coo!ant Company”. The natural landscapes shown were shaped by the power of water, clarifying the automatic association with the water-miscible coolants and lubricants. Liquid metalworking tools assure similarly lasting results.
“We set up a cylindrical display unit showing our HYCUT® production line at the entrance of the stand as an eye-catcher,” reported Krone. Comfortable seats invited customers and interested parties to take part in relaxed conversations at the stand. “We were able to strengthen personal contacts in a congenial atmosphere. Above all, it is important for us to be close to our customers,” stressed Dr Mann.
The latest products from the Uetersen ideas laboratory and the subject of innovation were the central themes at the trade fair. A great deal of know-how was applied to the extension of the product portfolios of the two brand new single-component metalworking fluids ESTRAMET® 575 MG and FRIGOMET® 475 MG for the processing of magnesium. Both coolants are water-miscible and were optimised to material complatibility and flushing capability. Because the products inhibit the formation of hydrogen and are non-flammable, Oemata has made a considerable contribution to employee safety with these innovations.
In addition, two new boron-free products were introduced which are not harmful to humans and meet the extremely high demands of the work and environment protection. UNIMET® 230 BF and ALUMET® 320 BF can be used as universal coolants in the processing of steel and grey cast iron or aluminium and distinguish themselves through extraordinarily good residue behaviour. Among the further advantages is the excellent material compatibility with high corrosion protection, long sump lives and versatile uses.

Oemata recently presented information about the tailor-made service for coolants and lubricants at two further trade fairs, MACH 2008 in Birmingham, UK, and CCMT in Beijing, China.
